Karina grew up close to nature, inspiring her early passion for photography. The former first assistant to Sølve Sundsbø, Karina uses her strong technical skills to create expressive settings showcasing a playful and spontaneous portrayal of her subjects.Currently based in between London and Norway with a passion for travel, she is continuously working on personal projects which have been featured in Dazed Beauty, Vogue, Atmos amongst others. Her work is featured in editorial publications such as Elle, Allure, Wonderland, Hunger, Porter, Y magazine and she has worked on advertising campaigns for clients such Dior, M & C Saatchi, Cacharel, Net a Porter and Cartier.

To those who are not familiar with you or your work; how would you briefly explain it?
KT: Up close textural portraits

What is the most important drive for you to create and why?
KT: The realization of self-fulfilment

How do your own experiences influence your work?
KT: Moving forward personally allows me to keep an open mind professionally.

Can you elaborate on an important moment in your life where you experienced a big change, chose to make one or another event which altered your way of thinking or your approach to creativity?
KT: I had a base for two years in Bali, Indonesia 2018 - 2020 and did a lot of traveling around the country during that time pursuing my own personal projects. The

simplicity of make-shift shoot settings has altered the way I work. All though collaborations are important part of my work I don’t always need others to create my work.

What do you want to communicate through your work?
KT: Is there a message - political or otherwise?Being a photographer is a way to understand myself and the world in order to relate better to the world.

Who or what do you value as a great inspiration for you creatively?
KT: People and Places. Constant work.

How does digital and social media affect or inspire your life and creations?
KT: I try to look at social media as just a tool.

Do artists of today have some kind of of social responsibility?
KT: I think artists have the autonomy to create on their own terms, just like the audience are free to interpreter.

If you could change one thing in the world today, what would it be?
Action to stop climate change.

What are the main reasons you collaborate with COLLECTIVE OSLO?
New possibilities.

What do you aspire to? In the near future? In life in general?
KT: Authenticity. Always pushing my pictures to be as good as they can be.
